About Sami

Who I Am

I believe leadership is human work. It shapes how we connect, how we make decisions, and how we create change that lasts. My career has always centered on people, first as a nurse and later as a coach, consultant, and strategic operator. Across every role, my purpose has stayed the same: to build environments where people feel seen, supported, and able to thrive.

Professional Journey

I have spent more than a decade supporting leaders through complexity, growth, and transformation. For ten years at Providence, one of the nation’s largest health systems, I served as strategic and operational partner to the executive leading a seven-state, 51-hospital, $2.1B Women’s and Children’s service line: directing governance and operating rhythms, aligning 650+ clinicians and administrators, helping improve net operating income by $57M, and deploying AI-enabled clinical tools across the enterprise. I was also selected as one of 16 Health Equity Fellows working to close the gap between the people who need care and the systems meant to reach them.

Most recently, as chief of staff at a boutique executive and leadership development firm, I built a company’s operations from the ground up while delivering 360 leadership interviews, culture studies, and executive development for C-suite and senior leaders at Fortune 100 organizations. Alongside that work, I have coached executives and teams across industries, partnering with them to strengthen leadership presence, align around shared priorities, and cultivate cultures rooted in trust and performance.

Today, my work bridges leadership, strategy, organizational dynamics, and human development. I bring a blend of operational depth, coaching expertise, and emotional intelligence that helps leaders and teams move forward with focus, alignment, and purpose.

My Philosophy

Real leadership begins when competence meets courage. Growth happens when we choose presence instead of autopilot and when we are willing to be both clear and human. I help leaders navigate complexity with intention and create the conditions where people and organizations can flourish.

Beyond Work

I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, our daughter, our son, and our two dogs. I love wandering forest trails, sharing good wine with good company, and exploring the world with curiosity and gratitude. My 28 tattoos each tell a story and remind me that we are always evolving and always becoming.

My Book

What inspires someone to get 28 tattoos? More than meets the eye. Indelible: A Memoir traces the meaning behind each one, while also exploring themes of resilience, self-discovery, and the power of human connection. It’s a story of challenges met, lessons learned, and the beauty of growth along the way.
